In the beginning...
In January 2002, with the death of my wife of 15 years, Susan, from a fast acting virulent liver based non-liver cancer, I found myself in Washington DC in a 6 bedroom house on 47th Street NW in the Foxhall subdivision that we had lived in for less than a year and were in the process of adding a room. Surviving my wife, in addition to me, was my dog, Popcorn, a West Highland Terrier whom Susan and I had raised from birth who was now eleven years old and suffering from diabetes. One of my wife's daughters was in DC and the other in Texas. My daughter Sarah who had been living with us while completing some extra education to become an accountant, was apartment hunting to find a comfortable DC apartment. Son David was in Charleston drumming in a variety of bands.
